Who We Are!
Steel City Bowling League is Pittsburgh's premiere alternative lifestyle sports league. We create a welcoming space for the Pittsburgh area's lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their allies. So, you don't have to be gay to join SCBL because we welcome all people to become members of one of the most entertaining and energetic leagues in Pittsburgh.
Some of the benefits of joining our league:
- Membership in the United States Bowling Congress - Because we are sanctioned by USBC, bowlers can enter any USBC tournament nationwide with the average that they accrue through Steel City.
- Membership in the International Gay Bowlers Organization - Each year, IGBO hosts several tournaments nationwide (including a Mid-year and National tournament in a different city each time). Bowlers are permitted and encouraged to enter these tournaments to both bowl and socialize with other IGBO league bowlers.
- Social Events - Throughout the year we will have two major social events (one around the holidays and an end-of season banquet). Bowlers get to participate in these events as part of the weekly sanctioning fees.
Steel City Bowling League is a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) as an organization that fosters amateur sports competition.
